Flower In Mountains

On an island, a flower grows, deep in the mountains
Can you hear it?
It sings back to the sun that illuminates it's light upon it
It's voice so soft, almost as a whisper
But it speaks
Hidden away from view, can it be found?
Will it's words be lost no more?

Untitled

Sometimes you've been in one place for too long and the urge to roam again comes.
Complacency settles in and you remember times where you went around the Earth and how hard it was, and how treacherous the passes seemed. But somehow, it made life worth living. It added life to your soul, to be a foreigner in a strange land, no matter how far from home you tread. In that moment, you were alive.

Ode to Alexandria

Oh Alexandria, how I remember thee
Virgin port of the Middle Sea
Harbors inviting, nurturing and sustaining
The mind of all knowledge
Come to me again with air of salt, incense and floral beauties
Bring the Egyptian sun to warm my heart again
Hear the voices proclaim most holy philosophies
And the eyes to most sacred papyri
In it's library walls
May I lose myself in the maze of your streets
To greet your courtesans and merchants
Before sailing again....

Aftermath of Battlefields

Sitting in a circle of wanton destruction
The debris engulfing this sadness
I look at this loss for life
And wonder where it all went

Swirling seas of childishness
Aching lands of fortune lost
How squandered things have been
And hallowed hearts a plenty

It begins to cry forlorn and broken
Not speaking for broken voice
Saddens to say the rotting tooth
Has loosed itself from the mouth

And in the end
We care
Not only for our sins
But for our children

Almost Spring

Oh how March is
The liberating month, the wayfarer's haven
Grey skies turn blue
Darkness to sunshine
Being in the twilight of dawn
Makes me feel
Pleasant

Wish at Sea

There are hopeful horizons that come upon the sea
When sailing in deep uncharted waters
Being adrift, I feel, I see
That I will one day reach a land
Not yet present in view
But as I let go
Cast the die unto the Earth
I pray that day comes
When I can walk upon dry soil again
With you, my friend

How the Universe Was Born

slowly slipping down, they let the water consume them
watch the light slowly fade
seeing a new dawn slowly rise
as they are reborn
watching stars become fallen
burning out in the sky
heaven sprawls
and retracts
all at once
one universe giving way for another

Winter Days

Burning embers of cinnamon
Winter days they come again
Oh how quietude turns into the sting of busy times
Please, bring me back to my solace

Having inner peace comes to those
Who bring it unto themselves
Old and new we come to the world
How do we escape this judgment?

Thoughts Late at Night

Chaos reigns
Hearts ablaze
When times change
Are rearranged
Please speak between the lines
I do not and cannot repeat myself
Myself, am I maddening, saddening,
Giving joy or espousing hope
Reading the symbols betwixt the stars
Of sacred want and need
Can you hear me reverberating in the night
That secret poetic soul from beneath the waves
Of the universe
Speaking truth

Nursery Rhyme Time

The Three Little Pigs in a state of sin
Bring it again, bring it again

Maidens, they're milking
Butchers, they're butching
And bakers they're baking

What ludicrous nonsense is this?
What world do we live in
Where ba ba black sheep bleet
Drunk in the street
What does that even mean?

YOU TELL ME.

Stream of Mind

How good it feels
When storms calm
Hazy shades of azure blue
Come to take me away

I need this place
Solace, Solemnity, Sol
It comes like burning embers
Illuminating my night within

Revelation
Betwixt myself and myself
Calling from spaces inside
Wriggling out anger and snuffing out pride

Going, neither here nor there nor anywhere
Yet traveling everywhere
I hear delight
Send me it's way

Voyage

Oh how the mists of time
Come to grab us away
When we believe in what we know
But it hurts the heart
That is when the candle of change
Comes to glow it's peaceful light
Of both happiness and sorrow.

Universal Spirals

Naked somber
It comes in the night to bring false faces
Into folds and fields of wonder
How can you not underestimate, understand
Under bridges
Of your own designs unyielding
To the newly driven snow of existences foretold?
Words are like louses, pickpockets' houses
When they kneed like doe the edge of the soul
Can it really bend with time and hearts unkind
How be the places alone?
Brought upon arcs of time
The wastelands of an empty chasm
Breathing deep beyond all measure
The future knows no bounds
While the past is yet complete and present completing
How can you say you did not feel it
When it encapsulated your sacrum
And how can you ignore
The pounding sound of universal love
That reverberates at your door?
When all the haunts of eternity
Come to bring you gifts of life
The nectar of unspoken gods and fright
Torches ablaze with fortune and fame
All for naught tonight?
