Untitled

Sometimes you've been in one place for too long and the urge to roam again comes.
Complacency settles in and you remember times where you went around the Earth and how hard it was, and how treacherous the passes seemed. But somehow, it made life worth living. It added life to your soul, to be a foreigner in a strange land, no matter how far from home you tread. In that moment, you were alive.

Ode to Alexandria

Oh Alexandria, how I remember thee
Virgin port of the Middle Sea
Harbors inviting, nurturing and sustaining
The mind of all knowledge
Come to me again with air of salt, incense and floral beauties
Bring the Egyptian sun to warm my heart again
Hear the voices proclaim most holy philosophies
And the eyes to most sacred papyri
In it's library walls
May I lose myself in the maze of your streets
To greet your courtesans and merchants
Before sailing again....
